Since the birth of my baby, I have tried many types of slings and carriers. My baby simply couldn’t stand to be in any of them for more than five to ten minutes at a stretch. And a few of these carriers were top-brand ones, too. Frustrated and convinced I would have to carry my rapidly growing son in my arms – without the assistance of a carrier – until he started walking, I gave up searching for that elusive perfect carrier and did in fact carry him in my arms for up to four or five hours at a stretch, till my arms lost all sensation. I did this until about a month ago, when my son turned one. Then, one night during a casual Internet surfing session, I chanced upon the Baby Slings & Carriers website based in Singapore, and my resignation turned into mild excitement as I browsed through the many different carriers offered at the site. I chose the Ellaroo Mei Hip carrier because it looked good and seemed well-suited to my toddler who is a rather heavy 10.5 kg and fussy to boot.... my son absolutely loves being carried in the Ellaroo Mei Hip carrier!...every time I start strapping on the carrier now, he stretches his arms out towards me to indicate he cannot wait to be carried! He adores being inside the Ellaroo and looks (and feels) very comfortable in it. On top of that, he enjoys facing me and being pressed close to my chest while sitting in the carrier. Even with the proximity, he still has space to move his arms, head and upper body around so he can interact with his environment without constraint. The Ellaroo Mei Hip is also easy to use and once I got the hang of it, I could adjust it with ease, with one arm only and with baby inside the carrier. I would highly recommend this excellent carrier to parents who want a good, sturdy, secure yet fun carrier that’s portable and durable too. My son and I look forward to using it all the time now.
