Before you use your Patapum Baby or Toddler Carrier with your child, follow the follow few simple steps to prepare your Patapum Carrier for use:-
| 1. |
Adjust the Patapum Carrier hip belt such that you
have a snug fit. Try it on without baby. It should not be too tight or
too loose, but the top of the hip belt should sit slightly lower than
your waist and the bottom part of the belt should sit nicely on your
hips. |
| 2. |
Adjust the Patapum Carrier shoulder straps. Put it on yourself without baby (with hip belt still on). A good fit should have a small allowance for the baby, with the boy panel about 10-15cm from your chest.
|
| 3 |
For the Patapum Toddler Carrier, there are additional compression side straps at the side to adjust. This should be adjusted with an allowance of about 10-12cm on both sides first.
*Note that the allowance is for how big each individual child is so it cannot be pre-determined accurately before putting in the child.
|
| 4. |
Adjust the Patapum Carrier's chest straps to fit your personal frame. The purpose of the chest strap is to prevent the shoulder straps from slipping while you are wearing your baby in the Patapum Baby or Toddler Carrier, so it does not need to be very tight. Just ensure that it gives you a comfortable fit without causing your shoulders to “bunch” up.
|
| 5. |
Straps can still be adjusted after putting the child in, but preparing it in advance will save you a lot of protests when trying it on for the first time with your child. Please be sure to adjust your straps again until you find a comfortable fit with the child in the Patapum Baby or Toddler Carrier.
|
| 6. |
Ensure that all the excess straps are rolled and tucked away so that they do not become caught with moving objects.
