Using the Ellaroo Mei Tai in the Back Carry Position

Using the Ellaroo Mei Tai Baby Carrier in the back carry position is preferred when the baby gets older and bigger. The back carry position also gives the baby wearer more freedom to go about your acitivities.Compared to the front carry position the back carry position is a little more challenging to learn. Nevertheless, practice makes perfect. You will get the hang of it in no time. 

Just follow these instructions to master the back carry position using the Ellaroo Mei Tai Baby Carrier:

Start Here Step 1. Place the Ellaroo Mei Tai baby carrier on a soft seat with the short (waist) straps at the bottom and all straps spread out.
	Step 2. Sit baby on the Ellaroo Mei Tai about one quarter of the way from the bottom of the Mei Tai body.
Step 3. While sitting in front of baby, tie the Ellaroo Mei Tai waist straps securely around your waist. Bring the shoulder straps up over your shoulders to the front of your body and pull baby snugly toward your back.
	Step 4. With one hand supporting baby’s weight and the other hand holding the Ellaroo Mei Tai shoulder straps, stand up.
Step 5. You can cross the Ellaroo Mei Tai shoulder straps in front of your body . . . *Tips: No two people wear the Mei Tai exactly the same way. Experiment with the straps tied in different positions until you find what is right for you and baby.
	Step 6. . . . or you can bring the Ellaroo Mei Tai shoulder straps straight down in front of your shoulders toward the back of your body.
Step 7. Cross the Ellaroo Mei Tai straps under baby’s bum and bring them under her legs and back around to the front of your body.
	Step 8. Tie the Ellaroo Mei Tai straps in a double knot.
Step 9. The Ellaroo Mei Tai straps should be tied & hide across the side openings of the baby carrier for security. This is to prevent any undesired tangle. Baby should be sitting above your waist, close to your body.
