Using the CatBirdBaby Pikkolo in Inward Facing Front Carry

The inward facing front carry position is the most ergonomical of all positions. It allows the baby to hug the babywearer naturally and close to the babywearer's chest. For younger babies, this position naturally calms them as it allows them to see the babywearer's face at all times. Holding the baby snug to the babywearer also create much less strain on the babywearer's back. If your baby is new to the Pikkolo baby carrier, this would be the best position to start with.

Follow these instructions to master the inward facing front carry position using the CatBirdBaby Pikkolo Baby Carrier:

Start Here Step 1. Secure the Pikkolo Baby carrier on your waist, buckles behind you.
	Step 2. Pick up your baby and hold her tummy to tummy with you. Straddle her legs on the middle portion of the Pikkolo baby carrier. Next, bring the carrier body behind your baby's back. *tips: If you are carrying a smaller baby, you can let the baby sit in the baby carrier froggy style/cross legged or straddle after you have cinch the center portion of the carrier narrower using the cinch cord.
Step 3. While supportin your baby's back, bring one shoulder strap over your shoulder, cross behind your back diagonally, under the opposite arm and secure the buckle.
	Step 4. Repeat with the other shoulder strap of the Pikkolo baby carrier.
Step 5 & 6. Make sure your baby is seated deeply in the Pikkolo baby carrier. Tighten all the straps to ensure snugness. *Tips: Not having baby seated deeply in the baby carrier can result in improper fit. Remember also that the center body buckles are dual-adjustable. To ensure comfort, position them such that they do not press too tightly against your body or the baby's legs.
	Step 7. To better adjust the Pikkolo shoulder straps, you can pull up one shoulder strap at a time while adjusting the buckle on the opposite side.
Step 8. How the cross straps of the Pikkolo Baby Carrier should look like when it is done. *Tips: You can also choose to not cross the straps. That means the shoulder straps would be straight down just like a backpack. Not crossing the straps allows you to take the baby in and out of the Pikkolo without the need to unbuckle at all. You can then use the chest straps to keep the shoulder straps in place.
