Using the CatBirdBaby Pikkolo in Back Carry Position

When your baby gets older and taller, using the Pikkolo baby carrier in the piggy back position is much preferred by both babywearer and child. For the child it is more fun and for the babywearer, a taller child would not be blocking your view as in the front carry positions. For a start, before your child is old enough to hop on your back, it is easiest to use a chair that you can sit the baby in as you put her in the carrier. Alternatively, you can get someone's help to place the baby into the Pikkolo. The most challenging method which is also the most convenient and independent method is to learn how to shift your baby from the hip position to the back position all by yourself .

Follow these instructions to master how to get your baby into the piggy back position using the CatBirdBaby Pikkolo Baby Carrier all by yourself:

Start Here Step 1. Secure the Pikkolo Baby carrier on your waist, buckles behind you. Clip each shoulder strap to the center carrier buckle on the same side.
	Step 2. Move the Pikkolo baby carrier to one hip. *tips: It would be easier to position the carrier on the side of your master hand.
Step 3. Place your baby in the Pikkolo baby carrier and ensure she snugly into the carrier.
	Step 4. While keeping your hand behind your baby's bum, scoot your child with the Pikkolo baby carrier to your back. Bend down slightly and allow the baby to lie on your back. *tips: If you have chosen the side where your master hand is, this will be the hand supporting the baby's bum.
Step 5. While still keeping your back slightly inclined, center your baby on your back. Continue to support your baby's bum with one hand, put on one shoulder strap of the Pikkolo baby carrier with your other hand.
	Step 6. After one shoulder strap is in place, put on the other shoulder strap of the Pikkolo baby carrier. Straighten you body and tighten the straps to ensure snugness.
Step 8. Depending on the height of your baby, her arms can be under the shoulder straps.
	Step 8. If you child is taller, you can also allow her to place her arms over the Pikkolo's shoulder straps.
Step 8. If you prefer, you can also release the center buckles and cross the straps of the Pikkolo baby carrier in front of your chest. In this position, there is no risk of the shoulder straps slipping off your shoulders. *tips: If you don't like the cross straps and have the problem with shoulder straps slipping off your shoulders, use the chest straps that comes with your Pikkolo Baby Carrier to secure the chest straps.
